Socrates Day School

Socrates Day School is one largest Greek-American educational institutions in the country and has provided academic excellence for over a century. The unique dual language private program prepares students Preschool-8th Grade for greatness by utilizing a problem based learning curriculum focusing on social, emotional and academic development, and is recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education. 

The approach to instruction acknowledges objective standards of correctness, logic, beauty, and truth.  It also integrates the universal principles of Hellenism which enable students to understand the origins of democratic thinking, independent thought and the pursuit of lifelong learning.  

Small class sizes allow teachers to keep all students engaged, as well as focus on each individual learner. Students routinely score in the 90th percentile in national standardized testing and our Greek Language Program has a 100% success rate in Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language (Ellinomatheia). Graduates continue on to succeed in high school, with graduates enrolled in honors and AP courses, and accepted into top tier universities.
